THE BLACK (SWEDEN)

The Black was an old school black metal band that was formed in 1992 by a drummer from Eskilstuna, Sweden, called Markus "Make" Pesonen. He called himself "The Black" and wanted to form a band under that name. He asked his friends Leviathan and Black Demon to play bass and guitars respectively on the recording of a demo called "The Black". At that time Jon Nödtveidt of DISSECTION was living in Eskilstuna and therefore he asked him to do the vocals. He accepted and did so under the alias Rietas. The demo was recorded in October 1992 and released soon after that. Now Black Demon left the band but Jon took his place and started playing both guitars and keyboards for them. Their one and only album "The Priest Of Satan" was recorded and mixed at Underground Studios in April / May 1993 and released the following year through Necropolis Records.
